Growing in Faith

At Christ Memorial, we believe faith is a living, growing journey—nurtured by prayer, learning, and community. Whether you're exploring Christianity or just the Episcopal traditions for the first time, or deepening lifelong practices, we invite you to grow in faith with us.

No matter where you come from or how you arrived here,

no matter where you go after the service today,

no matter whether you believe or doubt,

no matter what you feel—or don’t feel—today,

YOU are welcome here.

Come just as you are, and know that the God who knows you by name and loves you deeply desires to be in ever closer relationship with you.

We’re so glad you’re here.

Below you’ll find meaningful and accessible ways to stay connected to God’s love throughout the week.

CMEC Minute

Faith, in about a minute.

The CMEC Minute is our weekly video series. Each episode is about sixty seconds long and offers a glimpse into what we do in worship, why it matters, and how it helps us grow in faith.

Anglican Prayer Beads

Empower
Growth

A simple way to slow down, pray deeply, and grow in faith.

The Anglican Rosary—or Anglican Prayer Beads—is a flexible tool to help you focus in prayer. Whether you're just beginning a prayer practice or looking for new ways to center yourself in God's presence, these beads offer a tactile, contemplative rhythm to guide your time with God.

Unlike the Roman Catholic rosary, the Anglican version includes 33 beads (symbolizing the years of Jesus’ life), arranged in a circle with four sets of seven beads ("weeks") and larger beads in between ("cruciform" beads), along with an invitatory bead and a cross.

There’s no one “right” way to use them. You can:

  • Pray scripture or written prayers

  • Use a sacred word or breath prayer

  • Sit in silence, pausing on each bead

  • Follow a full pattern like the one in our CMEC guide

This is a practice of grace, not perfection.

We offer handmade prayer beads—lovingly crafted by members of our parish—as a sign of welcome and peace. They are a gift especially for newcomers, caregivers, and anyone seeking a gentle reminder of God’s nearness.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” —Psalm 46:10

If you don't have a set of prayer beads, pick up a set at the church.  If you’d like someone to walk you through how to use them, we’d love to help.
