Blessing of the Animals

Christian history includes a longstanding tradition of blessing animals on or around the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. Francis is honored as a saint who listened to God, who cared for creation, and who ministered to animals. He invites us to honor and serve those we might consider “least” in the Kingdom of God and to celebrate our companionship with all God’s creatures.

Please bring your pets to CMEC on Saturday, October 4th at 11AM for a blessing of animals. All pets are welcome! Please ensure that your pet is appropriately leashed and/or restrained.  Invite friends and family members, the more the merrier. You may even bring a photograph or a stuffed animal if your pet would rather stay at home.
