Ministries at CMEC

At Christ Memorial Episcopal Church, formation is central to who we are. We believe that faith is a lifelong journey — one that invites us to grow, learn, and be transformed by God’s love.

Formation refers to the ongoing process of developing and nurturing one's faith and spiritual life. It includes practices that deepen our understanding of God, the teachings of Jesus, and the life of the Church.

At CMEC, formation is woven into everything we do. Whether through worship, education, prayer, service, or fellowship, we seek to create opportunities for people of all ages to engage their faith more deeply.

Formation is not just for one season of life. It calls both children and adults to take personal responsibility for their spiritual journey, while being strengthened and supported by a loving and faithful community.

At its heart, formation at CMEC is about becoming the people God calls us to be — growing together in faith, knowledge, and love as the Body of Christ.

Wherever you are on your journey, there is a place for you here.

Contemplative Prayer

In the midst of busy lives, we offer a space for stillness and listening for God's voice.

Our Contemplative Prayer gatherings are held on most Thursdays throughout the year.

This quiet, half-hour service invites you into deep silence, reflection, and simple prayer.

All are welcome — whether you are new to silent prayer or have long practiced contemplation.

Roots & Wings

Roots & Wings Family Worship Experience is a monthly worship gathering designed especially for families with children (birth through 5th grade) and their grown-ups.

Together, we learn, pray, wonder, and grow — building strong roots in God's love and wide wings for living our faith in the world.

Each gathering includes a joyful, kid-friendly worship service followed by a simple meal shared together.

Formation Classes

At Christ Memorial, we believe that growing in faith is a lifelong journey — and part of how we love God and love our neighbor more deeply.

Our Christian Formation classes help us live out our mission by nurturing hearts, minds, and lives rooted in Christ’s love.

We offer a variety of classes and series throughout the year, open to adults and older youth:

  • Sunday Morning Formation:
Periodically offered at 9:00 AM before our 10:30 AM worship service, these classes explore scripture, Christian life, and the Episcopal tradition, grounding us more fully in our call to worship, community, and service.

  • Weekday Formation Series:
Throughout the year, we host special formation opportunities such as our Lenten Study Series and The Chosen Bible Study, creating space for deeper reflection, conversation, and growth in faith.

Wherever you are on your spiritual journey — curious, committed, or somewhere in between — you are warmly welcome.
Come grow with us as we seek to love God, love our neighbor, and share Christ’s love more fully.
